![]() Con Sellers Digging for dirt on Con Sellers was harder than I thought -- considering he wrote quite a bit of sleaze for Merit Books, Novel Books, Headline Books and in Adam and Men's Digest magazines (as well as others). The best info so far comes from an article by sleaze historian Brittany Daley in Gary Lovisi's PAPERBACK PARADE #61. In it, Daley tracks down Sellers on the internet only to find that Con Sellers passed away in 1993. From his widow, Mary, she learned: Connie Leslie Sellers was born March 1, 1922 in Shubuta, Mississippi, married in 1943, and likely fought in WWII. It was during a stint in the Korean War that Sellers began writing, serving as a war correspondent and editing an Army newspaper. He was decorated with medals for heroism several times in the serivce and also began weightlifting and boxing -- all of which seeps through in his mucho-macho paperback originals and "over 150 short stories!"
